FK "Ventspils" congratulates all its fans and supporters and wishes all the best in the New Year! Merry Christmas! We wish You health, happiness and success. We wish all Your dreams and wishes come true. We wish You much of the spectacular football in the New Year especcially demonstrated by three times champions of Latvia. We wish You see new victories and victorious emotions of the "yellow-and-blue". Lets be together and stronger in the New Year!  

On Sunday, October 19, FK "Ventspils" played another match of the Latvian championship. The yellow-and-blue played away against FC "Skonto" in Riga. The derby of Latvia ended by 2:2 and this was enough to bring FK "Ventspils" the third CHAMPIONS title in a row!!! The goal scorers in the CHAMPIONS team were Sasha Cilinshek (defender) and Vits Rimkus (striker), who basically scored the golden goal from the penalty spot.

On September 16, FK "Ventspils" played another match of the Latvian championship away against "Dinaburg" in Daugavpils. The match ended by the draw 0:0, however there was a violation of disciplinary regulations by team "Dinaburg" as they have fielded the player which was not eligible to play. Due to that reason the Disciplinary Comission of Latvian Football federation considered the protest filed by FK "Ventspils" and made the decision to punish "Dinaburg" by the technical defeat 0:3.

FK "Ventspils" have started their second stage of the Latvian championship. The top 6 teams are going to struggle for medals and this promises to be a very exciting part of the season. There are already 2 matches played in the second stage and here are some short reports:

On Sunday, August 10, "Ventspils" team played another Latvian championship match against "Vindava" (Ventspils). The yellow-and-blue easily destroyed the opponents and scored 7 goals and saved their own net clean and shiny. The hat-trick was scored by striker Andrey Butrik, other goals were scored by midfielders: Zurab Menteshashvili, Aleksander Mysikov, striker Vits Rimkus. One more goal was an own goal by "Vindava". This match was the last one for the yellow-and-blue in the second stage of the tournament. Now "Ventspils" is getting ready to the third stage of the championship where the leading six teams will continue the struggle for medals and the rest 4 teams will be separated from the main group and will compete for the survival in the Premier league.

On Tuesday, August 5, "Ventspils" team played the 2nd leg match of the Champions league 2nd qualifying round at home against SK "Brann". The yellow-and-blue managed to win the match by 2:1, but unfortunately it was not enough to go through. Great goals were scored by midfielder Zurab Menteshashvili and striker Vits Rimkus. Morover, "Ventspils" managed to win playing with only 10 men on the pitch for 75 minutes as one of the key players was sent off the field in the first half.

On Tuesday, July 29, "Ventspils" team played the 1st leg match of the Champions league 2nd qualifying round away in Bergen, Norway against SK "Brann". "Brann" managed to ensure the vicroty by 1:0, scoring the crucial goal in the 87th minute.
